The S2+ is built with Triple Nichia emitters or XPL HI emitters.
The Nichia emitters have a very low forward voltage allowing it to run at high current. This triple is built using the Advance Program Regulated
driver that will limit the current to 4.9A. This configuration is recommended for the Nichia high CRI emitters because of their lower efficiency.
The Advance Program Regulated driver is also a good choice for the higher output emitters because it allows the driver's thermal regulation
to better manage the heat generated by triple emitters.
With a Nichia 219C high CRI emitters, expect around 1400 lumens and with the higher output emitters (Nichia D320 and XPL HI V3) the output is typically around 1750 lumens.
Although the maximum output from the AP-Regulated driver is lower, it will allow you to use the higher output modes for more than just a few seconds.
The copper MCPCB is soldered onto the specially designed pill.
The driver is potted and has easy change contacts -both a solid contact and a beryllium copper spring are included.
The TIR (triple optic) is protected by a ultra-thin, scratch resistant AR lens.
The switch has a copper bypass and copper contact cap installed.
